ABSTRACT

Objective:To study the CT features for solitary fibrous tumor (SFT) in the abdomen and pelvis and to improve the diagnostic accuracy. Methods:Fourteen patients with SFT were collected in our hospital from January,2011 to December,2015.Characteristic of images were analyzed and compared for 10 SFT,which located outside the abdominal organs with extragastrointestinal stromal tumors (EGIST),leiomyosarcoma, and schwannoma. Results:Necrosis and cystic formation were frequently present in SFT in the abdomen and pelvis.CE-CT showed serpentine vessels along the periphery, while pattern of enhancement was maplike inhomogeneous progressive.Comparing with the EGIST or schwannoma, the difference of CT value in non-contrast and the arterial phase were statistically significant (P<0.05).The numbers of peritumoral circuity vessel were significantly different between SFT and EGIST (~=18.27,P<0.008) or between SFT and schwannoma (x2=19.25,P<0.008).Comparing with the leiomyosarcoma or schwannoma,SFT located outside the abdominal organs. We found that tumor necrosis rate was significantly different between SFT and leiomyoscarcoma (x2=8.00,P<0.008).Conclusion:SFT in the abdomen and pelvis show certain CT characteristics. The CT value in noncontrast and at the arterial phase, tumor necrosis rate, and serpentine vessels along the periphery were pivotal in differentiating SFT from leiomyosarcoma,EGIST and schwannoma.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore cell suspension and level of IL-17 in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) of children with labor pneumonia combined with mycoplasma pneumonia and its clinical significance. Methods 87 children with labor pneumonia who had been done BAL were divided into CPIS ≥ 6 group and CPIS 0.05). The percentage of columnar epithelial cells in CPIS < 6 group were higher than CPIS ≥ 6, how-ever, macrophagocyte was lower ( < 0.05). The percentage of neutrophils are related with both MP-DNA ( = 0.48,= 0.000) and IL-17 ( =0.49, =0.000). Conclusions The composition of BALF is more appropriate to react the circumstance of lobar pneumonia. When lobar pneumonia occurs, columnar epithelial cells are damaged, macrophagocyte gathered to participate in the inflammatory response. In Mycoplasma pneumonia infection group, IL-17 raises neutrophils to resist infection, NE%in BALF can indirectly reflect the mycoplasma infection degree.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the stress distribution of the femur after cemented prosthetic replacement in aged patients with comminuted intertrochanteric fracture and to analyze the difference of stress distribution between cemented long and short stem prosthesises. Methods A volunteer's left femur image data was obtained by spiral CT tomography. Then, the three-dimensional model of the femur was reconstructed with Mimics and Unigraphics modeling softwares.Based on the above analysis,we established three-dimensional modles of comminuted intertrochanteric fracture, long stem and short stem prothesises, and mantle layer of cement. Finally,we established the three-dimensional finite element model of these materials with software ABAQUS6.5,and carried out finite element analysis to the model in biomechanics. Results The stress disrilbution of the femur after cemented long and short stem prosthetic replacement didn't change significantly. The stress distribution of short stem between cement and prothetic stem were in the correlative area of distal end of the prothesis, and the lateral peak value was 21.3 MPa which exceeds the fatigue strength of bone cement; However, that of long stem were in the middle of medial interface and in the distal end of bilateral interface. There was no significant stress concentration zone in the mantle layer of cement which was used to reconstruct calcar femorale. Conclusion The stress distribution of the femur didn't change significantly after treating comminuted intertrochanteric fracture of aged patients with cemented long and short stem prosthesises. The cemented long stem prosthesises may be more suitable to treat these patients for its lower loosening probability.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE To understand the relevant factors of nosocomial infection of inpatients in order to provide the evidence for taking measures to prevent and control the infection effectively.METHODS A retrospective survey was carried out on 10059 cases of hospitalized patients during Jan and Dec of 2008.RESULTS The nosocomial infection rate of hospitalized patients in this period was 4.3%(437/10059).The high risk infected rates were respectively as follows:24.9% in the Blood Department,15.1 % in the Tumor Department; The infection site were respiratory tract(59.3%),urinary tract(14.3%);The main pathogens were Gram negative bacteria(40.7%),fungus infection(25.4%);The risk factors mainly were usage of antibiotic drugs(40.7%),and underlying diseases of tumor(16.2%).CONCLUSIONS The effective measures for reducing the incidence of nosocomial infection should be taken.More attention should be paid on the risk factors.

ABSTRACT

Though Runx2 and Osterix are both key transcription factors in the pathway of osteoblast differentiation, whether Runx2 positively regulates Osterix being unknown. It was showed that Runx2 induced the gene expression of Osterix both in the non-osteoblastic cell lines, either pluripotent or differentiated, and in the osteoblastic cell lines. At the same time, the results also indicated that Runx2 up-regulated the activity of the 3.2 kb human Osterix promoter. Further experiments identified a highly conserved and functional Runx2 binding site "AGTGGTT" within the promoter. Thus the results support the hypothesis that Runx2 is involved in the regulation of the Osterix gene expression. Moreover, the transient transfection and dual-luciferase assay showed Osterix up-regulated the activity of the 2.3 kb type Ⅰ collagen promoter in the non-osteoblastic cells, but Runx2 did not. This difference implies that Osterix, the down stream transcription factor of Runx2 during osteoblast differentiation, is needed to stimulate the osteoblast-specific gene expression of type Ⅰ collagen.
